About
After 20 years as a computer programmer in corporate America, I accepted an early retirement offer. My last ‘work’ day was March 31, 2005. On April 1st, bwh Web Designs was born. My goal is to create high-quality, standards-compliant, reasonably-priced websites for small businesses. After all, a website is an essential tool for a 21st Century business. My first project was to rebuild the San Antonio Bead & Ornament Society website. I then built a website for Anna Price - a fabulous dichroic glass artist. Please see my portfolio for a complete list of websites I have built.
The customer comes first in any website. While I do the actual website design, it is based upon the customer’s preferences. I take into account the current logo, colors and themes of a business. These must carry over to the website to present a unified business. A quality website will often be the first impression potential customers have of your company. It should reflect your business ethic.
My philosophy is to start with a quality design and build the website to current standards. You will see a consistency on my websites - logos on every page, a consistent menu, no spelling or grammar errors, no pop-ups, no ‘Under Construction’ signs, no sound, Flash or other special effects unless they are necessary to the business. All pages are thoroughly reviewed and tested in all the major browsers. The result is a website that is viewable and appealing to the largest number of viewers.
My services include website design and build, web hosting, and photography. If you have a traditional brick-and-mortar business, you may want photos of your shop on your website. I also have done extensive work with photographing jewelry. For your website, I offer many features including detailed counters to track visitors, shopping carts, custom forms, photo galleries, custom programming, and more.
I am a member of 2 not-for-profit organizations. I am aware of the monetary constraints these organizations face. Hence, I will work with you to come up with an affordable website.
Also, as an artist, I understand the needs of an artist for a website at an affordable price.
bwh Web Musings is a recent addition. I plan to have tips and information for building your website community. So have a look around. Also, see bwh Web Designs once you’ve decided to have a website for your business. Send me an e-mail for comments or questions. Or you may call us at (210) 383-5842.
